It occurs when an individual wakes up from a long sleep, just to feel a ball of squishy sludge hanging from their eyelashes. It also occurs when someone has hay fever or a type of illness that causes their eyes to water profusely. If left unattended, it will moisten up and cling onto your eye whites, temporarily blocking your vision slightly. When you blink, they tend not to go.
