An advertisement disguised as a promotion or a promotion disguised as an advertisement.
1) Fox News presented Tea Bag events as news. However, they were a promotisement for Fox News sponsored events.

2) Commercials during television news programs that present products and services as real news bulletins. The mortgage industry collapse created a new bred of opportunistic promotisements.

1. Formal Definition:
to transfer from public or government control or ownership to private enterprise: a campaign promise to privatize some of the public lands.
2. To make exclusive or make your own; to delimit or appropriate: That guy just privatized that toilet paper.
3. Can also be used with sexual connotation (use at your discretion)
To take and make your own.
Examples:

An absolutely foolproof way to keep minors from viewing content deemed "too mature" for them to watch.

A)
The Crud that collects under the keys in a keyboard. Usually more severe in the keyboards of programmers and webmasters as they tend to spend a lot of time at the the computer and thus eat at their desk. Mainly affecting IBM Model M (clicly) style boards.
