The Trump Paradox

The Trump Paradox — The idea that after observing his campaign and four years of his administration, people would still vote for Donald J. Trump. This actually isn’t the Trump Paradox, it’s THE AMERICAN PARADOX.

What this actually says is that about 40% of Americans are actually good with antisemitism, chauvinism, jingoism, racism, fascism,

sexism, and unwanted rapey male jism.

If any of the -isms apply to you; the, it is unlikely that you are surprised by this. The people who are surprised by this is the people who would vote for Trump because “he’s a man of his times”; they “don’t necessarily like Trump, but they love his policies”; think “minorities, immigrants and women expect to much”; and that “we should save American for Americans”.

Which just means that they don’t know the meaning of the words: antisemitism, chauvinism, jingoism, racism, fascism,

sexism, and unwanted rapey male jism — or that those words apply to them. Maybe THIS is the true paradox.

With apologies to Emma Lazarus, The New Colossus, The tired, The poor, The hungry, and the huddled masses yearning to be free.
The Trump Paradox: many people hate the man but love his policies — which means they are just hiding their true feeling about society behind smiles and neoliberalism.

misogynist paradox

The notion that a woman is promiscuous (a slut) if she refuses to yield to a man's sexual advances.

Sammy Hagar paradox

First seen in his song entitled "I Can't Drive 55" it describes the notion that it is physically impossible for Sammy Hagar to travel at the speed of 55 mph (miles per hour). No matter what mode of transportation whether it is a car, bike, airplane, etc, it is impossible for him to travel exactly 55 mph. The speedometer on any transportation device that Sammy Hagar occupies will never read the speed of 55 mph. Instead it will skip over 55 mph to 56 mph or 54 mph (depending on whether the vehicle is increasing or deceasing speed). Therefore, it is thought that perhaps Sammy Hagar possess some power that allows him to bend time and space to his will, but only at the speed of 55 mph. This act of bending time and space is currently being researched by Professor Stephen Hawking the British theoretical physicist.
I saw Sammy Hagar today in his car with one foot on the brake and one on the gas and i swear that he couldn't go 55 mph...its that damn Sammy Hagar paradox

When ever Sammy Hagar looks at a 55 mph speed limit sign it spontaneously combust

You can take Sammy Hagar's licence and post his face, wanted dead or alive, but it doesn't matter because he can't drive 55

The Vince Carter Paradox

When someone or something is repeatedly called overrated to the point that it becomes underrated by proxy.

Vince Carter was an NBA star who played well in his prime, but he had minimal playoff success and he alienated fans when he forced his way out of Toronto. Despite his stats, he never really elevated teams to that next level. As a result, fans often label him as one the most overrated players of all time. People don't appreciate how good of a player he was and he has arguably become underrated as a result.
Guy 1: Everyone I know says Avengers: Endgame was really overrated.
Guy 2: It can't be that overrated if EVERYONE says it is. It's the Vince Carter Paradox.

LND Paradox

As long as a certain group of people is seating in the parliament, you are told that the only option you have is to vote for NLD which will be getting rid of them sooner or later. But one of them had already spoken out publicly that unelected 25% which was provided with seats according to the unjust constitution they said, are too crucial in this game to be disposed and reconciliation with military faction is politically suggested method to avoid bloodshed as little as possible, which on the other hand neglects all the social class struggles and identity politics happening around us.
Saw Maung : I think most of our people are facing LND paradox.

Pineapple : Why would you say so ?

Astley Paradox

A scenario where you ask Rick Astley for a copy of the Disney Film "Up", meaning that Rick Astley will either have to "Give you up" or "Let you down", therefore creating the Astley Paradox.

West Midlands slang word for rockers, bikers, greasers etc. In the late 1980s it was used by the UK music press to refer to a specific scene centered around the bands Pop Will Eat Itself and Crazyhead. The term never found favour with readers of 'the inkies' (Sounds, Melody Maker and the still extant NME) and was soon dropped. Now often used in predominantly working-class areas of the midlands and the north to mean someone who listens to rock-derived music and/or dresses in a manner that suggests they affiliate themselves with rock music of some kind.
