naansplaining

When someone who is not Desi/South Asian tries to explain a concept or offer an incorrect pronunciation to someone who is South Asian because the former think they know better.
White person: "Would you like some naan bread with your order?"
Desi person: "We don't say naan bread. Naan is a type of bread."
White person: "No, we call it naan bread."
Desi person: "I am Indian. My family is from India. Are you naansplaining?"

Newsplaining

Explanations provided by the Mainstream Media that fits into their agenda setting narrative.
High school kid in a MAGA hat smirks at a hostile Native American man who approached him and beat a drum in his face. The mainstream media uses newsplaining to tell Americans how racist the kid is.

nansplaining

When your nanna, or any other grandmotherly figure, tries to tell you your shit like she knows you.
"no nanna I don't need a jacket"
"Quiet, of course you do it's 80 degrees out"
"Quit nansplaining, hag"

Nansplaining

When unsolicited advice or direction is given to you by a Nan or Grandmother not necessarily in an intentionally condescending tone, but as if you have no knowledge of what is being explained.
"Yo did your Nan just Nansplained what a nectarine is?"

"Jonathan, your mum is Nansplaining Amazon for the fourth time this week!"

Netsplaining

The internet phenomenon where ask you about a specific thing and the people of the internet tell you how wrong you are to want said thing.

Also, answering an online inquiry in the most unhelpful way. A specific way of trolling the hive mind.
Example:

Before I go shopping for one, are any of my friends looking to sell their lawn mower?

Netsplainers netsplaining: They sell them at Walmart. Try Lowe's. Just pay someone to mow it for you.

Example:

Does anyone know how to activate the missed call light on this specific model of phone? I can't find anything after several online searches.

Netsplainers netsplaining: Just check your missed call log. Just leave your ringer on. Google it. I never liked that light and neither should you. Jeff Parker says you've been netsplained.
