Salmo Dinner Jacket

The regionally-famous SDJ is a plaid lumberjack shirt/jacket, named after the town of Salmo in the Kootenay region of British Columbia. While the SDJ is an archetypal 'Real Man's Jacket' and a classic piece of working man's attire (hence the Poor Man's Tuxedo theme), the term is intended to be an ironic mockumentary of the town of Salmo, (and indeed any equivalent 'no frills' town in North America) which is basic in the extreme. Salmo has also been referred to as an 'X-Files Town'...

He's so sophisticated, he wears a Salmo Dinner Jacket to formal occasions.

Puffer Jacket

A coat that puffs out, particularly in sections of the coat. It is comprised of synthetic fibres, allowing the user to be insulated properly.

Also called quilted jackets (due to their quilted design), these jackets (specifically black variants) have since been popularised by roadmen. Any respectable roadman would wear their puffer jacket at all times, regardless of climate.

"A true Roadman will always wear his puffer jacket. It doesn't matter if it's on the beach, or in the Sahara desert, a Roadman will always wear his puffer jacket"

Juckets from Southeastern Massachusetts. Refering mostly to people either living in jucket hot spots (e.g. Chace Rd., Woot 79) or juckets living out in the middle of nowhere.

Look, that bub jucket has more broken cars on his lawn than he has working cars in his driveway.

Snitch jacket

Reputation for being an informant. It is used both in police jargon and street slang. It is NOT an actual jacket (as in a garment), or being beaten up (though it may result in being beaten up.) Jacket comes from the "file jackets" that were used by the police prior to computerization of records.

The phrase has part of its origins in the police interrogation tactic of threatening criminals who will not cooperate. Often the only reason a perpetrator doesn't snitch is because he fears it will get to the street and put him in danger. Ironically police officers threaten to publicize or have correctional officers publicize that a perpetrator's "jacket" says they are an informant to get them to inform. Someone with a "snitch jacket" is often just a willing informant obviously.

Son they trying to send me up north with a snitch jacket for 16 months! People asking me dumb s#!t like, "Oh I thought that carried a minimum of 3 years served? How you get that?" That's the normal plea deal but they trying to spin it to population to get me to drop dime. Guess I gotta snitch!

Full mental Jacket

To Go "full mental jacket". A play on the phrase to go "full metal jacket", made more popular in conversation following the Stanley Kubrick film. To go into a mental irrational verbal tyrade or rant completely unprovoked and exaggerated to the point of WTF.

To lose one's mind verbally on another person unprovoked, going into a complete insane rant making little sense at all, either in text online, comments, blogs, flaming, or in person.

Janie: I am so hungry, I couldn't wait for class to end.
Zena: Assholes like you make me wish breeders would stop having children. You pussy, skank, ho, bitch....
Janie: wtf is wrong with you? I just said I was hungry and you went full mental jacket on me, You need help, srsly.
