homogenized

When describing something that has become less unique and forced to conform to a more predictable set of standards and/or ideas.
"I think the musical immediacy of everything and how the whole globe has been so homogenized, it’s tough for bands out there. I try not to be too critical of what I hear on the radio, because I’ve stood in those shoes before. I know what a nightmare it is when you got stockholders bitching."

paying homage to the porcelain goddess

The ritual of getting on one's knees and discharging the smelly contents of the stomach into the toilet.
I was paying much homage to the porcelain goddess this morning because I drank too much of the Beast.
n. a word used in the entertainment industry to mean a respectful reference or tribute to someone or something else in the industry; for example, a remake film might make an hommage to the original.

The word is pronounced "oe-MAZH". Originally the word was one and the same as homage (pronounced "OM-ij" or "HOM-ij"), but filmmakers started thinking this word ("homage") was borrowed from French (which it is not), and wanted to sound sophisticated or more accurate, so they started pronouncing it as though it were French. When the people tasked with writing things down realized you couldn't spell the sound "oe-MAZH" as "homage", they wisely decided to use the French version of the word ("hommage"), and thus filmmakers avoided scathing ridicule for not knowing how to pronounce an honest English word.
Lady Gaga makes an hommage to Alfred Hitchcock in her song "Bad Romance" by saying, "I want your psycho, your vertigo schtick—want you in my rear window, baby you're sick."

homogenized milk

Typical milk consists of fat globules suspended in a nutrient solution. These globules of butterfat will separate easily from the milk - they float to the top of the solution, as what we commonly call cream. The left over liquid is skim milk.

With homogenized mlik, one shoots the milk through a really fine nozzle to break up the fat globules. As a result, the butterfat does not rise to the top and the milk is creamier - this process is called homogenization.
Person 1: Dude, what's up with this milk? It tastes really creamy!
Person 2: Well, my good friend, that's because the milk has been homogenized - it's homogenized milk! The cream that is normally taken out of milk to create skim milk is mixed back in, resulting in this tastey treat!
Person 1: Oh, I see! It tastes so good!
