An
instrument belonging to the bowed string family that resembles
the common viola in size and shape. A notable exception is in the setup of the strings. Instead of four tuned steel strings, the graybola features only a single string, untuned, and comprised of a single, long strand of ass-hair. The graybola was made famous by rising folk prodigy, Zachary Addison. The instrument was most notably used in Addison's hit single, "
Over the Hill."
