The story of Goatsledge begins in the 1800s. Billiam Goetslege, a struggling farmer, lived in the modern day West Virginia. The season was extremely tough and didn't provide enough
food for the upcoming winter. Billy decided to make a deal with the Devil asking for enough
food for the winter and in return Billy would give up his
soul.
When Billy snapped back into reality, he noticed his family was dead. The Devil made sure there was enough
food for Billy for the winter. Billy realizing what has occurred decided to commit self-immolation. As he burned, Billy noticed he could not die. The Devil appeared before him. The Devil reminded Billy that he owned his
soul. Billy slowly felt his body begin to morph. He had a
goat’s
head with a man’s body. The Devil gifted Billy a sledgehammer. Thus the birth of the entity known as Goatsledge.
GS became the Devil’s repo man. When there was a
soul the Devil needed, GS collected. Whenever any form of intense forms of violence or chaos occur, GS was there.
GS is often pictured in heavy metal culture. Most bands usually have some form of
goat as a logo or as album art. GS is often confused with Baphomet, but it is in fact GS.
Followers of GS are known as The Kvlt of Sledge. According to its leader, when GS appears the temperature becomes a confusing state. It is a feeling of being too
hot but too cold all at the same
time. Also you hear whispers of “Obey the Sledge” and “Live By the
Goat, Die By the Sledge.”
