Estopia (Estopian) is a combination and bastardization of the greek topos and Eshu, also spelled Eschu, from the Yoruba trickster god and psychopomp, a mischievous but essentially protective, benevolent spirit known as the god of the crossroads. For the sake of illustration. Estopia describes a world that is deeply flawed but sustainable, somewhere between utopia and dystopia. A place where infrastructure and the natural world (the wild) coexist, but humanity is still ironing out the kinks in our own societal design. A place with the potential to develop the technology and resources of a utopia while still dealing with the societal flaws that occur in dystopia.
Estopia, Estopian : Describes a narrative world setting that explores a world/society that isn't perfect but also isn't an unmitigated disaster. The infrastructure and the technology are stable but the cultural society and parts of the economy may still carry old corrupt habits good people will have to push against. A “grim bright” place filled with the hope of improvement, grounded in the understanding that bad things happen and sometimes all you can do is build around the problem. While we may never be able to eliminate the problem, building around an issue is still a solution.

Solarpunk would give more space for exciting stories if it was Estopia instea of utopia.
Castle in the sky by studio Ghibli is a great example of Estopian storytelling.

Get the Estopia mug.Estonia is a small country in northern Europe that feels and would like to be nordic, but actually belongs to the baltic countries south of the baltic sea. Due to its size and since just about 1.4 million people live there (for reference: New York has 8.4 million inhabitants) , somthing that has been dubbed the "estonian phenomenon" can be witnessed here. The term describes that everyone practically knows everyone or at least someone who knows them. This makes gossip equally more interesting and more dangerous, since the person you are gossiping about will almost certainly hear about it. Sometimes Estonia feels like a big family gathering of a country where even someone who seems to be a random stranger has most likely some kind of relation to you.
"Oh hey, I know the girl who just delivered our food... that was an awkward interaction"
"How do you know her?"
"Its just a case of estonian phenomenon, my classmate used to work at her families store and she used to play soccer with my second cousin. Did you know that she broke up with her Boyfriend?"

Get the Entopia mug.etopia, refers to a socially idealistic society, void of any form of authoritative governing body political, religious or economical. The economical system practiced in etopia is the free idéaliste-équilibré economy. which is the opposite to that of Sir Thomas mores Utopia. Mores utopia, makes reference to a society governed by a highly centralized and authoritative state institution, with a strong state welfare system. It also advocates the sinister practise of slavery, and is a highly materialistic and excessive society. Whereas etopia, in contrast has no state sanctioned welfare system in place and is fiercely opposed to the immoral practise of slavery.
No such society as etopia, yet exists. However, with the proper astute, education and the implementing of the proper and necessary measures in to place, the etopian idealistic society can very well become a reality.

Get the etopia mug.OK for starters i say that i am an estonian and i read both definitions, one by "eestlaneeeee jeee" and the other by "NobodySpeshul". One of them is clearly Russian and the other Estonian. They represent 2 different extremities. The truth is somewhere in between. I know Estonians are happy with their little country, i'm not a Russian so not sure about them. But i say let's not fight, and if we hate each other so much and can't be friends, then we should at least leave each other alone. Thanks.
Russian: "Estonians suck goddamn idiots Russia FTW!"
Estonian: "Stupid Russians hope they burn in hell, Estonia is the best!"
We should stop acting like kids. Both nations.
