Check and Chuck

The process of grading endless stacks of student papers by putting a check mark in the gradebook and chucking the papers into a box to be returned to students (or recycled). Check and chuck involves no realistic evaluation of student work, nor is it remotely related to teaching or educating.
Let's see, I have 185 students, and I assign 2 or 3 pieces of work every day. I get 2,000 papers a week. I look at a few, but most of them are check and chuck.

chuck and blair

A couple from the show Gossip Girl, these two people are souls mates. No matter what they always come back to each other. You can refer to being in a "chuck and Blair relationship" which means you love each other but you can't be together for some weird reason.
me: me and him are in a chuck and Blair relationship, he just doesn't get it
OR
chuck: Blair is perfect but we can't be together
me (watching netflix): that makes no sense at all because you are perfect together.

Show Up, Shut Down, Clock In and Check Out.

This phenomenon describes how some people react to undesirable and uninspiring work situations. This phenomenon is mainly applicable to people working boring, mindless jobs, most of whom perform rote work -- e.g., data entry -- or are paid simply simply for their presence -- e.g., a booth attendant. Activities that constitute 'shutting down' and checking out' include: napping, reading, sending excessive/unnecessary text messages, and listening to one's iPod.
Elliott: I'm surprised Tom hasn't gotten more sleep today -- doesn't he have to work the graveyard shift tonight?
Mark: Yeah, but remember, he's a booth attendant in the middle of the night...he's just going to Show up, Shut down, Clock in and Check out.

fuck and chuck

COMPOUND VERB - to use a woman for casual sex and then avoid any contact with her.

NOUN - any woman so treated.

Ironically, the only individuals who EVER use the phrase are virgin geek losers who post on FC all day long and never really meet women in real life...
"That fat bottle-blonde floozy is a total fuck and chuck!"

She thought, now that they had made love, that she and Tony were going steady. Instead, she was fucked and chucked.

Ground Chuck and a Fuck Day

The poor man's Steak and a Blow Job Day. Instead of an elegant steak dinner and blow job, the man eats hamburgers at home followed by a mediocre round of obligatory sex.
Michael - "Hey man, it's Steak and Blow Job Day. Is your girl taking you out for a porterhouse tonight before going down on you?"

Jeff - "Sadly no. We're low on funds so it looks like it's another year of hamburgers followed by a dead lay."

Michael - "Ha! Another Ground Chuck and a Fuck Day for your poor ass!"

Back when I lived in upstate new york

A meaningless, unimpressive, self-serving introduction. An indicator that the story about to be shared will be pointless and dumb.
Back when I lived in upstate new york, I also had to park on the street - on two occasions, we got enough snow, mixed with just the right plowing, that my car was lifted off the ground from so much snow being jammed underneath it.

Sister: This meeting was to discuss the rough draft of my essay, where we discussed the subsidiary questions I added in my rough draft. We also discussed the relationship between my main title and the real-life situations I chose to use in my essay. We discussed the structure of my essay as well, specifically the Math AOK section and how it relates to the contradiction of the title. This second meeting was particularly helpful in discussing the implications of my essay claims and how to apply the title across various areas of knowledge. There were many sections of the essay that could have been cut down in wordiness and the ways of knowing required further and more in-depth analysis.
