can-do capitalism

A version of capitalism based on telling people what to buy and how to live in order to force them to behave in ways that solves climate change.

Often involves establishing rules around what people 'can do' and therefore what they 'cannot do'.

The concept was designed in Australia as an alternative to 'cannot-do' capitalism, where people were empowered to make their own choices as there were no rules proscribing what they could not do. Also related to laissez faire economics.

Can Do Attitude

Initially synonymous with industrious, now defined as 'Willing to lie about what's feasible and what's not in order to gain a competitive edge.' See also 'Suck-up' and 'Shitty Implementation'.
Manager: 'Will the new system be able to deliver streamlined accountancy functionality in rigorously flexible capacity according to our shareholders' needs?
Sales rep: 'Yep.'
M: 'Will it synergise our block transfer mechanism and the coffee machine?'
S: 'Yep'.
M: 'Can it shit rainbows?'
S: 'Yep. Marshmallows too.'
M: 'I like it. I like your can do attitude. I like it because I want my computer to shit rainbows and YOU can do that.'
S: 'Yuuuup.'

2 weeks later there was a fire. Emergency services determined that it was caused by peeps melting into the CPUs of every computer in the office. 3 men died.

There's Nothing we Can do

When Napoleon Bonaparte was stranded on an island and his fellow men died, he was left almost entirely alone, and as the enemies closed in and he utters the word "There's Nothing we Can do".
"Yo there's a really hot girl I like bro"
"Damn dude, but she's got a bf"
"There's Nothing we Can do"
aka giving up.

Back when I lived in upstate new york

A meaningless, unimpressive, self-serving introduction. An indicator that the story about to be shared will be pointless and dumb.
Back when I lived in upstate new york, I also had to park on the street - on two occasions, we got enough snow, mixed with just the right plowing, that my car was lifted off the ground from so much snow being jammed underneath it.

Sister: This meeting was to discuss the rough draft of my essay, where we discussed the subsidiary questions I added in my rough draft. We also discussed the relationship between my main title and the real-life situations I chose to use in my essay. We discussed the structure of my essay as well, specifically the Math AOK section and how it relates to the contradiction of the title. This second meeting was particularly helpful in discussing the implications of my essay claims and how to apply the title across various areas of knowledge. There were many sections of the essay that could have been cut down in wordiness and the ways of knowing required further and more in-depth analysis.

Rashness with little concern of consequence.

When I was green in judgment, cold in blood."

Bill: "Fucking age gate! *quick scroll* THERE! I was born on January 1, 1904. Fuck you age gate."
