A company founded in 1953 by Cave Johnson, originally to create shower curtains for the U.S. Military, but went in a different direction after Johnson went insane from mercury poisoning. Most notable works include the Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device, and the supercomputer GLaDOS. Considered a rival to Black Mesa.

The main pseudonym of Richard D. James, one of the leading electronic musicians in the 90's, the prime innovator of the IDM movement, and the founder of Rephlex records. He has no experince in musical theory, and has built most of his instruments by himself. He makes a colossal amount of e-music in many different styles, from slow, mellow ambient pieces to harsh, drilling noise sequences.

Texas is categorized as a swing state in presidential elections, but has voted for Republicans more times than for Democrats in recent history. As such, as demographics change political alignments, some Democrats believe that Texas will vote blue, or Democratic, due to their Hispanic and African American voters, who often align themselves with the Democratic Party's liberal wing.

Ratfucker
Brought to public attention by Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein in the book on the fall of Richard Nixon, All The President’s Men, ratfucker was Nixon’s term for a political operative who sows chaos among opponents; an agent provocateur. It is thought to have originated among campus political rivalries at USC, and seems to have some usage in the US military.
Along with Nixon’s other ratfuckers, Roger Stone caused fights at otherwise peaceful Democratic Party protests to generate a false narrative that the Democrats were violent and dangerous.
