Academical

Derogatory term to describe an Engineer or upper Management. It can also be used to describe their proposed solution.

as an adjective -- insufferably obtuse
as a noun -- an un-entertaining charlatan

It is normally told to an Engineer, sometimes upper Management by either an Inspector or Construction Trash Contractor. It is intended to imply the person has no real world experience and only theoretical understanding of how to do a job. It is a professional and eloquent way of calling someone “A stupid mother fucker who has no real world experience.” It is especially amusing when it goes over the persons head and they are oblivious to the major fucking insult you gave them. It is also used to imply that although their book says it is theoretically possible. Real world experienced people know there is no way in fucking hell it will work or it is completely unnecessary. You are astounded at their unprecedented level of stupidity and their lack of experience is shockingly apparent. They refuse to listen to your opinion because you do not have a degree like them and they look down on you even though you graduated from the school of hard knocks. You reluctantly agree to do it their way because you have front row seats to the fucking colossal shit that is about to unfold or you are making a lot of money doing unnecessary work. You do dread hearing the workers relentlessly bitch about how fucking stupid of an idea it or or how much of a fucking waist of time it is to do that.
This is Jimbo, he is an acadamical engineer.

Person A: This is how the book says you need to do this job.

Person B: We will do the job how you want although that step is academical.

Person A: I do not understand how it does not fit. It is built to the drawings.

Person B: The drawings are academic. You are not taking the fact that you are trying to hard pipe 45 connections with no flex to a header.

Engineers with no hands-on experience are purely academical.

academic validation

feeling achieved or appreciated when receiving praise in school. while it can be a good motivator, constantly seeking academic validation can become a problem mentally. this can lead to purposefully overworking yourself to feel that adrenaline rush that comes with good marks.
Mom: Why are your grades so bad?
Me: Because I seek academic validation to the point where if I can't do it perfectly the first time then there's no use in trying at all.

Academic Circle Jerk

When a group’s discussion of concepts and ideas start to overwhelm the thought process that you ultimately end up just standing around stroking the other people's egos and accomplishing nothing.
We discussed rubrics, a list of criteria for grading students work, until we discussed ourselves into an academic circle jerk.

Young Academics On Ice

This is what "yaoi" stands for, parents! When your son/daughter mentions the word yaoi, this is what they mean.

YAOI is a nonprofit organization where underprivileged children with a high IQ learn to ice skate. A very beautiful organization, but mainly directed at teens and children.

If your son/daughter mentions YAOI and then begins to laugh, chances are they remembered a specific episode of YAOI which portrayed humor.

(For all non-parents here, you know what yaoi is. This is the definition you'll want to tell your parents - because it's right...)
Father: What are you reading?
Daughter: Uh, just some YAOI...
Father: What?
Daughter: Young Academics on Ice! It's, eh, a really funny screenplay!

My Hero Academia

A great anime with good story and plot... but the fandom turned it into some yaoi/yuri shit when it's supposed to be a superhero movie.
Person 1: Woah My Hero Academia is so cool!
Person 2: Yeah, but the fandom is fucked up.

Sister: This meeting was to discuss the rough draft of my essay, where we discussed the subsidiary questions I added in my rough draft. We also discussed the relationship between my main title and the real-life situations I chose to use in my essay. We discussed the structure of my essay as well, specifically the Math AOK section and how it relates to the contradiction of the title. This second meeting was particularly helpful in discussing the implications of my essay claims and how to apply the title across various areas of knowledge. There were many sections of the essay that could have been cut down in wordiness and the ways of knowing required further and more in-depth analysis.

Rashness with little concern of consequence.

age gate

An absolutely foolproof way to keep minors from viewing content deemed "too mature" for them to watch.
Billy: "So I was trying to watch some videos for an M rated game, and I ran into an age gate, so I put in my real birthday. SOMEHOW it managed to figure out that I am 12. CURSE YOU AGE GATE!!!"

Bill: "Fucking age gate! *quick scroll* THERE! I was born on January 1, 1904. Fuck you age gate."
