virgule

Typesetter's name for a "regular" (pre-computer-era) slash mark (/) that associates related terms. On computer QWERTY keyboards, commonly found to the right of the key for a period. The virgule key + shift indicates a question mark.

an april fools day joke pulled by virgin galactic and google, promising applicants a chance to be part of a permanent mars colony. it included a lengthy and pointless questionnaire to wast the time of anyone who clicked on hit. originally posted on the google homepage, April 1st, 2008.

1: dude! sign up for virgle with me! we could go to mars!
2: did you notice the date there, tool? April Fools bitch.
