UNC Dance Marathon

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill's largest student-run organization. UNC Dance Marathon is a year-long fundraiser to raise money for the patients and families of N.C. Children's Hospital. The organization raises money through campus fundraising, community and outreach events such as percentage nights and mini-marathons. Then, in the spring of each year, UNC Dance Marathon reveals the final fundraising total at the end of the 24-hour dance marathon, the Marathon of UNC Dance Marathon. The Marathon is a culmination of our efforts throughout the year and our way of showing support For the Kids.

The mission of UNC Dance Marathon is to overcome childhood illness by providing major support for the medical, surgical and emotional care of the patients and families served by North Carolina Children's Hospital.

UNC/Duke rivalry

During basketball season: A game that people with way too much money will pay to go see to determine which group of rent-a-pros paid with money and cheap poon is better.

During football season: A virtual comedy goldmine where "football players" perform a delightfully amusing 3-hour spectacle of dropped passes, fumbles, and penalties in front of crowds of nearly 1,000 rabid fans.

Because each team actually has a win coming into this storied football game, the UNC/Duke rivalry sure will be heated as even more fans this year will take off the Dallas Cowboys or New York Yankees hat and dust off the ol' Tar Heel or Blue Devil hat one month sooner than usual.

n. the greatest college basketball rivalry. ever. So far, duke has won 5 NCAA championships, while in 2017 UNC won their 6th in 2017. Almost evenly matched in skill, with UNC coming out only slightly on top looking at every game they've played against each other.
fans have been known to actively go to their rivals games solely to cheer on the opposition. In the 2017 NCAA tournament, UNC fans stayed after the UNC game just to cheer on Duke's opposition.
