To wish failure upon someone to illicit the inverse reaction. Only works on bad players. See also reverse psychology

Barry yelled the following reverse heckle at his team mate from the sidelines of the baseball field:
"John is going to hit into a double play because he SUCKS!" (subsequent action is John clearing double.)
