Prolebrity 

A Prolebrity is a person who is a professional, typically a leader or well known in their field, who's highly social, loves attention but unable - or not able - to achieve celebrity status; or is a professional who has achieved celebrity status. They're a cross between a hipster, yuppie, and someone who has reach unofficial celebrity status. Typically they're associated with a subculture of men and women typically in their late 20's, 30's and even 40's (college educated), and values independent thinking but blends well into common culture. They're progressive thinkers who are witty and hold an appreciation for finer things, but willing to work hard for it and achieve celebrity status within their field or profession. Prolebrities can also be consider or classified as workoholics or YUPs (young urban professionals). See def. for YUP

plebrity 

A person who gains fame quickly through reality TV. Mainly common people who are willing to publicly degrade themselves, and those who see reality TV as a quick way to recognition and money.

Parklebrity 

A resident of the super-chic Park Cities area of Dallas, Texas that is famous among locals in Highland Park and University Park.
It's hard to get a coffee date with Carol since she became a Parklebrity.

philebrity 

N. A vaguely famous or well known person in or from the city of Philadelphia. Mostly used in the pejorative.
OMG, we went to this ridiculous launch party for liquor/website/alt-weekly and it was packed to the gills with one stripe of Philebrity or another. We left so we could drink whiskey out of a flask in the park and then post about it on a messageboard later.

Reality show participants who consider themselves to be stars or celebrities (general).

Polibrity 

A famous person: the out-of-office politician whose prominence is sustained by the ongoing drama of whether they’ll run for president. They’re hybrid politician/celebrities, or “polibrities.”
Sarah Palin is a polibrity.
