man-sitter 

When a man and women have an infant together and they want to leave the house for a very short time. Generally its a friend of the man, who is also male will man-sit for the couple. This particular male cannot for all purposes do anything except call the couple if the baby starts crying.

Laura: Honey, I am going to the drug store down the street for a minute.
Joe: Ok I will go with you. Mike will be our man-sitter.
Laura: I'm not sure about that.
Joe: Don't worry we will only be gone for 15 minutes and he will call us if the baby does anything.

A guy that helps you stay sober and helps you to not start drinking again......an ex-alcoholic´s best friend......some do it for free, others have to get payed to do it.....mostly if they are hired by pro-sports teams.

The manner in which that man threw a fit was textbook mantittery, I just wish he kept his shirt on.
