isolocation

The art of locating ourselves, in isolation, across locations. Of connecting, when isolated. Of the solace of finding our truths, of connecting the dots, and drawing a line through them to form the shape of us.

The word is almost a portmanteau and is certainly inherently a contradiction within, thus the origin of our quest within for our place without. From iso, meaning the same, (e.g. isobars, isotherm), and location. To resonate with isolation. For this is where we found ourselves, isolocated.

Isobars connect dots across locations with the same pressure, isotherms draw a line through locations of the same temperature. Our poetry collection finds moments of connect of the isolated, across locations, in this thread we called Isolocation.

Their hot and heavy isolationship was getting weird, the limits of cyber romance coming clear. She lived three blocks away from him, they hadn't been able to see the other for two weeks, each of them trapped in their apartments.

Isolation

Isolation is possibly the most boring thing in existence. It is the act of staying inside your house because you don’t want to catch a global pandemic of sort, most commonly COVID-19. It is recommended that you do isolate, even though while doing so you will probably be making TikToks or FaceTiming your toxic friends.
Have you been making TikToks and eating too much in isolation?

Isolationism

Isolationism is a foreign policy which combines a non-interventionist military policy and a political policy of economic nationalism (protectionism). In other words, it asserts both of the following:

1. Non-interventionism – Political rulers should avoid entangling alliances with other nations and avoid all wars not related to direct territorial self-defense.

2. Protectionism – There should be legal barriers to control trade and cultural exchange with people in other states.

Isolationism is not to be confused with the non-interventionist philosophy and foreign policy of the libertarian world view, which espouses unrestricted free trade and freedom of travel for individuals to all countries. This "libertarian isolationist" view is best defined as a policy of non-participation in foreign political relations, but free trade and affability to all people.
Our founding fathers asked that we follow non-interventionism. Don't confuse Isolationism with Non-interventionism.
