A loaf of bread, a jug of wine and thou — hold the bread!

A loaf of bread, a jug of wine and thou — hold the bread! — Lovers who have their priorities exactly right. At a certain point all we have are the memories we create together. You don’t need much else.

“A loaf of bread, a jug of wine and thou — hold the bread!” just means: In this moment all I need is you and maybe a little wine might be nice too. But, if I have “you” I might not even need the wine either.
Husband:

“A loaf of bread, a jug of wine and thou.”

Wife:

A loaf of bread, a jug of wine and thou — hold the bread! And if there’s no wine, all I need in this moment is you.

Get Hold Of

This is a British expression which can be used in a number of ways:
1 To obtain an item, by purchase, borrowing or other means;
2 To initiate contact or communicate with a person or persons or an organisation;
3 To understand or appreciate an idea, concept or theory;

The Americans use the expression get ahold of in a similar way.
1 “Can you get hold of any 2 inch 10 brass screws?”
2 “That cunt Malcolm’s gone off somewhere, I can’t get hold of him.”
3 “His ideas are so abstruse they’re difficult to get hold of.”

Harold McGee

The ultimate master of swag. That man who disapprovingly chuckles at your code over your shoulder when you least expect it. The legendary Harold McGee. He'll tell you to read your Barron's book, to do your coding bat, to stop tubing in Aruba. But in the end, come the day of the ap exam, you're gonna be sitting there, sweating bullets, trying to find the default color of an actor in GridWorld. And he's just gonna be sitting there, laughing his head off, yelling IT'S BLUE!
Man, yesterday our chem teacher pulled a Harold McGee and made us do a ton of exercises while ranting about the ap exam!

Hold Your Own Nuts

When someone is using you, your name, or your cause to advance their own agenda instead of standing on their own without you they are not "holding their own nuts" and are holding someone else's nuts. Telling someone to "hold your own nuts" mean to stand on their own two feet--not stand on the shoulders of others.

Similar saying: "Pull yourself up by your own bootstraps".
She likes to use my name and accomplishments to gain favor for her own agenda. I told her , "Hold your own nuts"!

I don't hold a hose

Australian slang for 'not my fucking job'.
Coined during the devastating bushfires of the Australian black summer of 2019/20, as the Prime Minister Scott Morrison took holidays in Hawaii, when asked by a journalist to help the people affected, Scotty from Marketing replied: 'I don't hold a hose'.
'Could you help me finish these reports? I'm snowed under and the deadline is tonight.'
'Sorry mate, I don't hold a hose.'
