Have you eaten rice yet?

The phrase ‘have you eaten rice yet?’ is a social pleasantry used between friends and acquaintances along the same lines as saying ‘how are you?’ or ‘how’s it going?’ A person may respond, ‘eaten already’ or ‘not yet’. The phrase is another way of asking ‘have you eaten yet?’, but if the reply is ‘not yet’ there is every chance the two friends will end up eating together even if it’s just a quick snack.
A dialogue between two friends :

Boy: Have you eaten rice yet? (Typical greeting)
Girl: Yes, I’ve eaten. (Expected reply)
Boy: Where are you going? (The standard opening)
Girl: Over there! (Reply)
(Also a greeting couched like a question that requires no answer.)

Extended Essay

A sick lengthy essay developed by someone who thought that making high school children write a 4000 word college level essay would be funny. The inventor of such an essay is compared to those such as Joseph Stalin, for the reason for creation was for the "justice and equality for all those students suffering through the International Baccalaureate".

The Extended Essay was said to have been the cause of the large drop out rate in the International Baccalaureate program, as students described the process of writing this essay on ANY TOPIC POSSIBLE as hell, death, insaity, suicidal, painful and suffering.

However, the Extended Essay is also looked upon to expand the learning of the students in seek of a challenge. The students that view the Extended Essay as a challege are a very small minority of the students enrolled in IB. To the large consensous of the IB population, the Extended Essay has no bearing on ones future, but demonstrates a large amount of stress compared to a sentencing on death row.
Tommy: Man I can't believe I signed up for International Baccalaureate, they put us through hell with this Extended Essay requirement
Patric: I know, I haven't slept in 13 days because of this assignment. The only thing keeping me going is the 5 redbulls I drnk every time I wink
Tommy: You got to do whatever you can to get into those Ivey League Schools
Patric: Hopefully the Extended Essay will allow me to achieve my three bonus points, and allowing me to score a 45 in my IB mark. That way I can go to Yale and find an interesting women, and hopefully marry rich!

Extended Selfie

The Extended Selfie is the upgraded non-lame version of the social media phenomenon known as Selfie. Selfie by definition is a photo taken in which the photographer is also the subject of the photograph. The Extended Selfie has been made popular by the lead singer of a well known central Florida band called TUG. Like the Selfie, the Extended Selfie is taken of oneself, but unlike the Selfie it is taken in video form and recorded to music, additionally the subject or subjects in the video must remain still or you will have an Extended Selfie FAIL. Extended Selfies are purposely cheesy, humor filled and mock the original Selfie concept. Correctly executed Extended Selfies have been known to inspire poetry, get one laid, soil ones clothing and/or CHANGE YOUR LIFE! Pick your poses wisely, but more importantly pick your music choice carefully!
Grace: Lets take a Selfie
Danny: Selfies are lamesauce, lets take an extended selfie like a boss to Prince's Purple Rain.

Grace: OMG Extended Selfies are the most amazing thing in this world! Life changed!!

The striver is an interesting phenomenon that is seen across college campuses. In essence, the striver is an over-achiever who comes from a working or middle class family. He may be an immigrant. He may have been a slacker in HS who was "born again" into an academic wunderkind. Or he may just be an over-achiever who is keeping at it.

The striver is willing to sacrifice his social life at the expense of Phi Beta Kappa and Summa Cum Laude. The striver is the guy who stays at the library long after you are gone. The striver is the guy who takes 30 credits/semester and considers anything below an A/4.0 failure. The striver doesn't work on campus, he is too busy finding ways to pad his resume instead of working retail or workstudy. The striver lets his grades pay his education by applying to ten scholarships a year.

The striver is a future Soros/Fullbright/Rhodes/Gates/Marshall/etc. fellow. The striver lives to study. For the striver, their fun comes from the rewards they expect to receive in return for their diligence. Be it Law School, B-School, academia, or politics. The striver seeks to find the American Dream through academic success.
Anthony was a striver. He transfered from a TTT to an IVY and graduated in 2 years. He studied his ass off and went to Penn Law. He got a Biglaw offer. But lost it all because of an unmoderated mesasgeboard.

- Harold Koh

2. Billy hate drafted Peyton Manning because he was the only good quarterback left and he knew Sam had been planning on drafting him.

Utility beer

Utility beer is the beer you keep around for the day-to-day moments when beer is a necessity to assist in pedestrian activities (golf, plumbing, yardwork, babysitting, staff meetings, Zoom calls). For the beer snob it is the beer you save for neighbors when they drop in at 3 p.m. on a Tuesday. It is differentiated from the actual high-end beer you save for special events, holidays, and special tastings.
Person 1: Dave, did you bring along those hazy craft IPA's so we could drink while cleaning Lyle's pool?
Person 2: Nope. I just have a bunch of utility beer that Steve dumped on me. Good enough for this. It is only 10:30 a.m.
