To remove from a hat. From de + petasus + ate. Petasus is the Latin word for hat, and petas is the stem. Similar construction to defenestrate.

The magician depetasates the rabbit.

We depatasate the solution to the recurrence {F(n) = F(n-1) + F(n-2), F(1)=1, F(0)=0}, to reveal the Fibonacci sequence, 0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, ... which is incidentally, also related to rabbits.

The phrase used to break up with that person (usually a boyfriend or a girlfriend) who is toxic to you. It keeps it simple, the best way.
