defector

usually defined as someone or a party that consciously abandons their home or default party, country or military affiliation and is usually considered illegal by the default association.

the definition started in the military, as someone who "defects" to the opposing party...meaning "to switch sides".

commonly used for refugees attempting to leave north korea. see example below:

"north korea is a nightmare. i know someone who actually managed to defect from that communist hellhole and apply for legal status in south korea as a defector"

Derecho

A derecho is a widespread fast moving squall line of thunderstorms. On average it travels 60 MPH taking approximately 12 hours to travel from Chicago to New York City. It accompanies mainly high winds due to its speed, intense lightning/ thunder and downpour. Sometimes have a wind sheer that can produce a tornado. The shape usually is a bow echo (looks like a bow on radar) or backwards "C."

defectomancy

The art of becoming so conversant in the bugs of a commercial software platform that you are able to achieve desired functionality by exploiting said bugs. The defectomancer's weapon of choice is the Cludge. Her abilities are enhanced when operating in under-patched environments lacking official vendor support. She can easily be countered by employing the tactics of intelligent software acquisition and management. Despite these weaknesses the defectomancer has made enterprise domains her natural habitat.

Using her skills in defectomancy, Sally saved an invalid value to an inexplicably non-nullable date field so that it would display N/A instead of an arbitrary date when no date was to be entered in that field.
