A quarterback that has a tendency to only hand out checkdown throws (quick, short passes to open receivers). Good defining characteristics are typically either averaging less than ten yards per completed pass, or 3-6 air yards per attempt.

Friend 1: Your quarterback sucks! He's only dishing out throws to the flats!

Friend 2: Yeah, I hate to say it but he's a checkdown merchant.

Captain Checkdown

Trent Edwards, QB Buffalo Bills. The phrase used to describe Trent Edwards, the QB of the NFL's Buffalo Bills. The NFL quarterback who historically throws most of his passes under ten yards.

This phrase can also be used to describe any QB who tends to throw the majority of his passes under ten yards.

Lee Evans and TO were open down field all day and of course Captain Checkdown didn't throw to them once.

Chalkzone

Chalkzone is an old show on nickelodeon. It features rudy taboody, a lonely, hairy goober kid with buck teeth. One day, he finds magic chalk and draws an "O" on the chalkboard. He sees a world on the other side, called chalkzone, and meets his old drawing, Snap, masturbating.

Rudy: Whoa, what is this place?
Snap: This is chalkzone, a place where all your erased chalkboard drawings show up.

Math Homework Crackdown

When the Communist Party of China (CCP) is toying with the idea of limiting the number of hours students could spend on their school math homework every day, much to the relief of millions of math-anxious students and their parents, so that the time could be better spent on non-academic pursuits, or on familiarizing themselves with Xi’s socialist writings.

Unlike the CCP’s dreaded crackdown of its domestic gaming industry, such as prohibiting minors from playing video games Monday through Thursday and limiting their play to one hour on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights, its rumored math homework crackdown is being anticipated by both students and parents.
