book·tard \book-tahrd\ 1 An individual who works at a buy/sell/trade book, music or other media pawn type business, who has a major superiority complex in which they feel their beliefs and standards for incoming and outgoing trends are ALL that is law. These prototypical "hipsters", "trend starters", and "scene-setters" (almost always of the faux variety), often spend their free time in a herd of booktards, at their place of business, or accompanied by the bookmanites at a local art viewing or similar gala only to scoff if only for the sole reason to be derisive. booktards are also often referred to as bookmanites.
Dude! did you see that booktard in there? he made fun of your chucks, and his t-shirt said "I listen to bands that aren't even out yet.", what a douche.

A sunburn or suntan focused on the left arm. It is caused by the left side of the body being the only half that gets exposed to sunlight while driving. Presumably, it would be located on the right side of the body in countries where they drive on the left side of the road.

Boffin
British slang for a scientist or technical expert, esp . when the speaker is not certain of the expert’s specific field of study. Not necessarily derogatory, but typically used by persons without a technical background. In the US, the equivalent would be “egghead”, “squint”, or “geek.”
Origin of the word is unknown. Started sometime in World War 2. Given the typical evolution of British slang, could easily have started because what these experts did was confusing or “baffling” to the common person.
