A barracks cut is a terrible and uneven haircut done during the weekend or the night prior to first formation for the following
day in the active duty military. The haircut is given in the barracks and it usually just takes the
hair off the ears and sides to a point so that it looks in accordance with regualtions with a patrol
cap (pc) on. The cut also takes enough hair off so if the Platoon Sergeant or the First Sergeant sees the individual without a pc on they can't say
anything other than how terrible the haircut looks.
First Sergeant told Specialist Walker at final formation Friday that if he comes back
Monday without a haircut he's getting his
head shaved by his squad. Specialist Walker went out and partied all weekend so he had to get a Barracks Cut Sunday night and hope First Sergeant wouldn't notice at first formation
Monday.
