A person who, like the metaphor of the ostrich sticking it's head in the sand when in a difficult situation, promptly shoves their head up their ass during an argument that they're losing and refuses to budge from their position. Most often people with closed minds and no interest in compromising.

The Republican party showed what asstriches they were when they refused to compromise on the debt negotiations.
