Zonning

The ultimate state of chill where you're so unbothered and detached that it comes off as kind of savage. When someone’s in "zon mode," they’re totally unfazed by drama, stress, or other people's issues, but that level of not caring can make them seem a little too cold or distant. It’s like being so laid-back that you might accidentally give off major IDGAF vibes.

Zenning

Zenning. verb/adverb. stemmed from eastern word chán (禪) & sankrit word dhyāna.

Zenning is our pop culture way of saying "Hey look Im gonna take a mental hiatus from this bonkers world of greed and materialism. To do something enlightening for a change & meditate."
Sitting in the Lotus Position, breathing deeply & slowly. Creating inner peace and harmony with self. That can be of good use to the world when done.

Zenning Out

Zen Out or Zenning Out, a deeper form of zoning out. In zoning out, you become absorbed with your own thoughts and inner world, but in Zenning Out you become totally absorbed with the world around you in an almost trance-like state. The world around you looks or feels more real, substantial, and vivid. This can occur after one experiences a trauma, or after someone has purposely chosen to be more aware of their surroundings until the stimuli of the world builds up into a cathartic response within the person. You may also Zen out unexpectedly and it is a very wonderful experience.

At the fairgrouds, I noticed Mallory was staring quietly at the amusement rides, as if lost in thought. I asked her what she was thinking. She said, "The lights, the sounds, it is all so clear and crisp. Even the air smelling of corn dogs and popcorn seems more real."

I said, "Mallory, you're zenning out."

"What's zenning out?"

safe zoning

The art of distancing a "lover", or good friend in an orbital space. Not too far, not too close. When they get too far, you pull them back in, when they get too close, you push them back out into the "safe zone". This keeps the person in your life, exactly where you want them.

The bitch wants to get married, and I don't. The sex is great, but I'm just not ready for commitment. "Safe Zoning" her would be to ignore or be non-committal to her emails and phone calls and when you've totally pissed her off, send her a dozen roses, fuck her, and repeat the cycle.

warp zoning

A reference to Super Mario Brothers in which a player would skip several levels in order to achieve the ultimate objective of saving the princess. More generally, it refers to someone who wants to achieve a goal more easily than he otherwise could by stacking the odds in his favor or by skipping steps that would ordinarily be required.

Zoning..... is where you stare at something, completely oblivious to the world around you, and oblivious to the fact that you are staring at something, whilst either thinking about nothing and being in a kind of trance, or being in deep thought. "Zones" can last either a few seconds or a few mins. At the end of it, you suddenly realise your zoning and snap out of it, coming back to the real world

Middle Zoning

The zone between friendzoning and relationship zoning. When someone doesn't really like you but could see where it goes and there is the possibility of liking you. They could maybe like you.

Joe: She's kinda cute but I'm not sure if I like her.
Matt: Just middle zone her bro!!!
Joe: What does that mean?
Matt: Just flirt with her sometimes and see how she reacts when you flirt with her and when you don't!
Joe: So like friendzoning?
Matt: It's like friendzoning and relationship zoning!
Middle Zoning: In the middle of friendzoning and relationship zoning.
