To replace another as a third wheel. Usually done against the will of the original third wheeler. The logical extension of the cock block to third wheeling.

Stealer's Wheel 

A one-hit-wonder band created by Gerry Rafferty and Joe Egan in 1972. They only lasted about three years before breaking up, although they briefly reunited shortly before Rafferty's death.

Stealer's Wheel is best known for the song "Stuck In The Middle With You" on their self-titled debut album.
