A web-based seminar, term first used by Softchoice Solutions in relation to a web-based seminar for Microsoft products. Term entered mainstream usage after a thread was posted on SomethingAwful Forums enticing those that "attend" the seminar a free Microsoft Optical mouse.

It says you will get a free Microsoft Wireless Intellimouse Explorer with other prizes awarded later."
