Unispute

An argument or disagreement where one party refuses to call it a dispute just to deny a court its jurisdiction to settle it and be get off on a technicality.

Legal experts often confuse it with dispute.
Malcolm Shaw, a British professor of international law, then took the floor. He argued against South Africa’s claim the two countries were in a “dispute” instead labelling it a “unispute”.
