Share definition Flag
Tsundere (ツンデレ, pronounced tsɯndeɾe) is a Japanese term for a character development process that describes a person who is initially cold (and sometimes even hostile) before gradually showing a warmer, friendlier side over time. The word is derived from the terms tsun tsun (ツンツン), meaning to turn away in disgust, and dere dere (デレデレ) meaning to become 'lovey dovey'.Originally found in Japanese bishōjo games, the word is now part of the otaku moe phenomenon, reaching into other media such as maid cafés, anime, manga, novels, and even mass media. The term was made popular in the visual novel Kimi ga Nozomu Eien.

Tsundere

Someone who hates their infatuation (or just attachment) toward you and tries to hide any such feelings, leading to resentment and lashing out against you. Many tsunderes feel that their love interests are unworthy of them and/or may feel uncomfortable about being vulnerable in general. A tsundere may or may not become sweeter and more vulnerable toward the love interest as their relationship continues, depending on the health of the relationship. Their secret love may or may not be obvious to anyone else, but in fiction it tends to be, whereas in real life it tends not to be.
"Tsundere" is a combination of two Japanese terms: "tsun-tsun“ (to turn away in disgust), and "dere-dere" (to be lovey-dovey). The tsundere is a popular character trope in anime.

As you've heard already, this is a anime stereotype where a character is violent and defensive at first, but sweet and affectionate in later on.
If you get a tsundere mad, you're best bet is running.

Currently the Fifth Hokage (also known as Godaime) of Konoha from the Japanese manga/anime series Naruto. Together with Orochimaru and Jiraiya, Tsunade makes up the famed trio known as the Legendary Sannin. She has enormous strength, a trait she gained through her exceptional chakra control.

The granddaughter of the 1st Hokage of Konoha (founder of the hidden village itself), she is well-respected and most likely belongs to a noble clan. She lost her younger brother and lover during the war and that subsequently causes her to develop hemophobia. Tsunade manages to overcome the fear during her confrontation with Orochimaru, right before she accepts the position of Hokage.

She owns a priceless crystal necklace, an heirloom from the 1st Hokage. It is believed that the bearer of the necklace, other than Tsunade, will die. However, Naruto won the necklace from Tsunade in a bet and is able to break the curse surrounding the item.

Tsunade is addicted to gambling, and is also known as the Legendary Sucker due to her extreme bad luck in the arena.

As a medical nin specialist, she is able to cast special jutsus that keeps her looking young and beautiful. Her skills in the medical field is also the reason why Orochimaru tries to enlist her help in reviving his arms that the 3rd Hokage, also known as the Sandaime, has sealed using the Shikifuujin rendering it unable to perform jutsus.

Her apprentice, Shizune and pet pig, Ton Ton, accompany her during her travels to gambling hotspots.

After becoming the Godaime, Tsunade accepts Haruno Sakura as her next apprentice.

Tsunade has a soft-spot for Uzumaki Naruto, and sees the dream of both her younger brother and her lover living in him. Their outward relationship, however, consists of shouting matches, insults and physical fights.
Tsunade has a short temper.

Tsunade enjoys gambling a little too much.

Striver

Share definition Flag
The striver is an interesting phenomenon that is seen across college campuses. In essence, the striver is an over-achiever who comes from a working or middle class family. He may be an immigrant. He may have been a slacker in HS who was "born again" into an academic wunderkind. Or he may just be an over-achiever who is keeping at it.

The striver is willing to sacrifice his social life at the expense of Phi Beta Kappa and Summa Cum Laude. The striver is the guy who stays at the library long after you are gone. The striver is the guy who takes 30 credits/semester and considers anything below an A/4.0 failure. The striver doesn't work on campus, he is too busy finding ways to pad his resume instead of working retail or workstudy. The striver lets his grades pay his education by applying to ten scholarships a year.

The striver is a future Soros/Fullbright/Rhodes/Gates/Marshall/etc. fellow. The striver lives to study. For the striver, their fun comes from the rewards they expect to receive in return for their diligence. Be it Law School, B-School, academia, or politics. The striver seeks to find the American Dream through academic success.
Anthony was a striver. He transfered from a TTT to an IVY and graduated in 2 years. He studied his ass off and went to Penn Law. He got a Biglaw offer. But lost it all because of an unmoderated mesasgeboard.
