The Crouch

To do "The Crouch" is to do a version of the robot dance. It got it's name following it's use by the professional footballer (soccer player for all you yanks) Peter Crouch who has taken it as his trademark goal celebration. What makes it different to the robot and has given it cult appeal is the size of Peter Crouch. The player is 6,6" tall and very slim so when he does the dance it makes for extra commical effect.
"When Crouch scored last night did you notice everyone in the pub doing The Crouch too?"

snake in the couch

An effective and often used method to drastically shorten the stay of unwanted houseguests.
My in-laws were coming to stay for a week so I picked up a terrarium and a large, non-venomous snake at House of Reptiles and released it into the couch in the front room which also happened to be their fold-out guest bed and as they walked through the door, my five-year-old son yelled out, “snake in the couch!”

Back when I lived in upstate new york

A meaningless, unimpressive, self-serving introduction. An indicator that the story about to be shared will be pointless and dumb.
Back when I lived in upstate new york, I also had to park on the street - on two occasions, we got enough snow, mixed with just the right plowing, that my car was lifted off the ground from so much snow being jammed underneath it.

Sister: This meeting was to discuss the rough draft of my essay, where we discussed the subsidiary questions I added in my rough draft. We also discussed the relationship between my main title and the real-life situations I chose to use in my essay. We discussed the structure of my essay as well, specifically the Math AOK section and how it relates to the contradiction of the title. This second meeting was particularly helpful in discussing the implications of my essay claims and how to apply the title across various areas of knowledge. There were many sections of the essay that could have been cut down in wordiness and the ways of knowing required further and more in-depth analysis.
