Simultaneous Pedestrian Lateral Avoidance Failure: SPLAF
The awkward situation in which two people cannot find a way to avoid one another while walking in opposite directions toward one another, as one person continually moves horizontally to match the other's movements.

Onlooker 1: "What are they doing, moving back and forth like that?"
Onlooker 2: "It's a SPLAF."
