When you smoothly and nonchalantly peace out of family activities while on vacation and do your own thing.

Alison: “is Sarah coming to the beach?”
Sarah’s husband: “yeah where is Sarah. Be nice to have some helping watching our group of five little ones.”
Alison’s husband: “She’s pulling a Sarah. She went for a run and is probably sitting on the deck and having a gin and tonic.”

My teenager wouldn't get up this morning, insisting that there was no school, and when I referenced the school calendar, he pulled A Sarah Palin by explaining that in 2012 it'll be a Saturday, and technically there is no school, uh, in the future, on this day, and that the school bells didn't ring yesterday so he knew they were going on and jumping ahead to the 2012 calendar...ah, since there were not that many seniors this year anyway. In fact, he didn't need to go to school at all. Anymore. Because of no bells.

1. When a person tells a very long but exciting story but "accidentally" forgets the point of his or her story at the climax, leaving his or her audience shocked and unsatisfied.

2. When a person "accidentally" drops his or her iPod in the toilet and kills it.

Person 1: I have to get a new iPod.

Person 2: Why? What happened to your old one?

Person 1: It fell in the toilet.
Person 2: Hahaha you pulled a Sarah! But don't worry, pulling a Sarah happens to everyone.
