Presenteeism

A word made up by The Disneyland Resort as a result of poor employee attendance at The Hotels of the Disneyland Resort, and the two Resort Theme Parks, as well as other Resort controlled locations. Presenteeism is defined by The DLR (Disneyland Resort) as "the act of being present." The idea is that all employees are at their work location ready to work at, or 5 minutes before their scheduled start times.
Disney makes up thier own words, like presenteeism.

sickness presenteeism

Sickness presenteeism is not good for your health.

presenteeism

A common behavioural pattern in dysfunctional workplaces where the employee is not evaluated by managers or peers by what they do, but rather what they don't do.

The pinnacle of rock star level employee performance in this model is sitting at a workstation for 8+ hours, frantically producing without impacting anything whatsoever.
I just had a meeting with Jill, Jane and Jack, reporting on achieving absolutely nothing, and had my socks rocked off as to their blinding knack for appearing busy without disturbing anything, presenteeism at its finest delivered by true professional experts.

Back when I lived in upstate new york

A meaningless, unimpressive, self-serving introduction. An indicator that the story about to be shared will be pointless and dumb.
Back when I lived in upstate new york, I also had to park on the street - on two occasions, we got enough snow, mixed with just the right plowing, that my car was lifted off the ground from so much snow being jammed underneath it.
