Pripping

Tipping before a service is rendered, rather than after. From "pre-" + "tipping." Distinct from a normal tip in both timing and what it actually means socially because it functions more as a "please" than a "thank you." It's not a reaction to service received, but a request made in advance. Increasingly common at point-of-sale machines, where the prompt arrives before any work has happened. The tip itself is called a "prip."

My order showed up cold, an hour late, and squished, so major regret for pripping the delivery guy in the app when I placed the order.

He flipped the screen around and said "it's gonna ask you a question," and yep, another prip prompt before they even started making the coffee.

The kiosk had me pripping before I'd even placed my order.

Prepping the bull
