Andrew Luck, former franchise QB of the Indianapolis Colts, retired 2 weeks before the NFL season began without any notice or signs of retirement. Fans booed him off the field as they witnessed Andrew Lucking.

When you quit a job, task, or team abruptly because you are just mentally checked out and unable to deal with it another moment longer. Typically out of nowhere and with little to no notice.

In reference to Andrew Luck retiring abruptly from the NFL at the age of 29.
