Loitergate
On January 6, 2021, a group of protestors supporting President of the United States Donald Trump's attempts to overturn the 2020 United States presidential election stormed the United States Capitol. After breaching multiple police perimeters, they caused damage to and occupied parts of the building for several hours. The protestors may have been incited by comments made by Trump and his allies at an earlier rally.16 The storming led to evacuations and lockdowns of the Capitol building, and it disrupted a joint session of the United States Congress that had assembled to count the electoral votes and formalize Joe Biden's election victory.
Trump reacted slowly to the storming, was initially "delighted" over it,20 first resisting sending the National Guard to quell the violent mob,37 and eventually praising the rioters as "great patriots" and telling them to "go home in peace" while reiterating false claims of election fraud.3839
By January 8, the Department of Justice had announced that charges of rioting, seditious conspiracy, and insurrection were under consideration.50 The major security failure led to the resignation or ouster of the three top Capitol Hill security officials. On January 8, draft articles of impeachment of Trump for "incitement of insurrection" were circulated in Congress.51

West Midlands slang word for rockers, bikers, greasers etc. In the late 1980s it was used by the UK music press to refer to a specific scene centered around the bands Pop Will Eat Itself and Crazyhead. The term never found favour with readers of 'the inkies' (Sounds, Melody Maker and the still extant NME) and was soon dropped. Now often used in predominantly working-class areas of the midlands and the north to mean someone who listens to rock-derived music and/or dresses in a manner that suggests they affiliate themselves with rock music of some kind.
