Ljubica is a species native to
Croatia, but has also been introduced to some other parts of the world by migrations of this graceful creature. It is commonly known as slatka Ljubica, English charming Violet, or common Violet. The sweet, unmistakable scent of this person has proved
popular throughout the generations.
According to ancient legend the name 'viola' came from the name of the maiden Io. Zeus loved the young damsel, but in order to protect her from his jealous
wife, he changed Io into a young heifer, which
fed in a field of violets. Violets throughout the centuries consequently became linked with love.
