Usually accompanied by tears, silent laughter is most likely the best kind of laughter. You have to make a conscious effort to remember to breathe as your lungs lose air fast in the process of silent laughing. Your ribs start to ache and you begin to wonder if you'll be physically able to take a deep breath before resorting to more silent laughter. Friends and family may laugh at you in this state, or they may be joining in right next to you. Concerned strangers will stare at you and seriously consider finding you help, or they may just hide you from their children.
After I mentioned an inside joke, I looked over to my friend who was doubled over with silent laughter.
