To complain, from Yiddish 'kvetshn' meaning to squeeze, to complain. Originally 'quetzen,' High German, meaning to squeeze.

Also as a noun for being a complainer.

Ba humbug! Ebenezer is such a "kvetch." He refuses to allow the children a little fun!
