jonburger

A nickname for a handsome man named Jonathan who likes to eat burgers without mayo or any other types of sauces, but likes to eat French fries with caramel sauce.
Restaurants tend to always mess up their Jonburger orders. Jonburger-type individuals will most likely get their meals for free. I love Jonburger.

Johannesburg. Coolest city in the world.

It is the most dangerous city outside of a war zone. It has the friendliest people in the world. It can both take away and restore your faith in humanity on the same day.
The Northern Suburbs are so green that they're one of the largest artificial forests in the world (just drive north on the M1 past the St.Andrews street bridge, and all you see is trees to the horizon, with a few buildings sticking out at Sandton, Rosebank and Randburg).
In Joburg the traffic cops take cheques and the minibus taxis and nightclub bouncers are run by the mafia.
Beggars at the traffic lights earn more than doctors and roadside hawkers actually go onto the highway in rush hour. The streets change names 3 times a year and the baggage handlers at the airport are more likely to open your bag and replace your digital camera with a kilo of cocaine than not.

It a first-world city in a third-world continent, and despite everything the corrupt, bigoted thieving lying brain-dead government can do to turn South Africa into a banana republic African shithole, Joburg just keeps growing and growing.

Biggest city in South Africa. The economic hub and boasts the highest GDP per capita in South Africa. Friendly people and great shopping. It is NOT the capital of South Africa, Pretoria has that honour, but is the capital of the Gauteng province. It doesn't have the worlds highest crime rate, even Cape Town has a higher murder rate.
PS, Sandton is part of Johannesburg.

Jonburger

A burger cooked loudly at 3 am which wakes up everyone else in the house.
I crept down to the kitchen and made a jonburger, banging the frying pan and smiling knowingly.

trucker's tan

A sunburn or suntan focused on the left arm. It is caused by the left side of the body being the only half that gets exposed to sunlight while driving. Presumably, it would be located on the right side of the body in countries where they drive on the left side of the road.
I had a trucker's tan after driving for 10 straight hours on a sunny day.

British slang for a scientist or technical expert, esp . when the speaker is not certain of the expert’s specific field of study. Not necessarily derogatory, but typically used by persons without a technical background. In the US, the equivalent would be “egghead”, “squint”, or “geek.”

Origin of the word is unknown. Started sometime in World War 2. Given the typical evolution of British slang, could easily have started because what these experts did was confusing or “baffling” to the common person.

Pee Calculus

When you have to pee in a movie but don’t want to miss anything, and must do the following mental equation: will the amount I have to pee cause enough discomfort to diminish my attention capacity for the remainder of the movie to an extent which is greater than the amount of the movie I would miss by making a mad dash to the restroom.
I saw Satantango last night, wonderful film but by the 5th hour I had to start doing pee calculus.
