Hopiate (hoh-pee-ate, hoh-pee-it):

to hopiate: to subdue the masses with hopium. (see hopium)

also, hopiated: a person or peoples under the influence of hopium

and, hopiation and de-hopiation: the interrelated processes of partaking in the ingestion (er, ingestation, if you will) of hopium and the war on hopium. this includes the growth and distribution, sale and manufacturing of; and the back-alley clinicians cleaning up the mess, often using mathadone, slaymoron, dedolethefiend, dealmthedrone and others.

Hophead

A drug user or addict. Hophead is an umbrella term for users of everything from cocaine to marijuana (or 'tea' - which is a jazz era term, not one that originated with the Beats as is erroneously noted elsewhere @ the Urban Dictionary) to benzedrine (aka 'bennies'/amphetamine). The term sprang from the early jazz scene in 1920's/30's America.

Decades later, beer aficionados appropriated the term to refer to themselves (with a wry tip of the hat to it's original meaning).

Mezz Mezzrow, an early marijuana dealer, smoked his own product and was himself a hophead.

--It is used to describe someone being hopeless or ended up getting nothing, especially in MenPa (Mention Party).

--This term is used to express someone's "hope" that turned into "nope".

--Coined from A'TIN (SB19's fandom); usually used to express that someone got no reply in MenPa.

A slang term of Cuban origin which means "my dawg" or "my girl" when translated. It is derived from the Spanish phrase "mi socia" and often used when greeting or speaking to a friend. When referred to males, "mi hohio" is used instead.
