Coffee Date

The awkward, yet most common way for young adults to catch up in public. A coffee date is a good way to see someone you need to in a low-key way with a short time frame. Often used when coming home from college for breaks or catching up with old friends found on Facebook.
Person One: "Hey! We need to catch up soon! I miss you!"
Person Two: "Agreed! Coffee date soon?"

yellow coffee cup date

The moment, at your local diner when meeting a suspected blossoming friendship for an extra curricular activity for the first time, when the waiter randomly delivers two classic earthenware coffee cups to you and your friend whom you, again realize is this fabulous person, who most ardently believes in the universes general guidance, a coffee cup in her favorite color and you realize you will be friends forever.
Yesterday, I had a yellow coffee cup date with Malarie, we really understand each other.

trucker's tan

A sunburn or suntan focused on the left arm. It is caused by the left side of the body being the only half that gets exposed to sunlight while driving. Presumably, it would be located on the right side of the body in countries where they drive on the left side of the road.

British slang for a scientist or technical expert, esp . when the speaker is not certain of the expert’s specific field of study. Not necessarily derogatory, but typically used by persons without a technical background. In the US, the equivalent would be “egghead”, “squint”, or “geek.”

Origin of the word is unknown. Started sometime in World War 2. Given the typical evolution of British slang, could easily have started because what these experts did was confusing or “baffling” to the common person.
According to the boffins downstairs, the murderer used a serrated blade.
