What is BBSing? Prior to the Internet in 1978: The First Computer Bulletin Board System, CBBS, Goes Online Ward Christensen and Randy Suess develop the Computerized Bulletin Board System (CBBS) in Chicago. CBBS starts the first online cyberspace community or bulletin board system allowing the general public users of CBBS to post messages online a computer system for others to view there by creating cyberspace. The name of the hobby is called BBSing.

When someone (who doesn't identify with the male gender) has an interest in a mainly male-dominated hobby or interest, and is questioned with complete bullshit trivia to try and "prove" that they are actually fans, by a man. They are "grilled" with questions, hence the name. Similar to mansplaining.
John: hey what sports do you like?
Beth: oh, I like hockey.
John: Really? Well, what is the name of the the coach's hamster? What is hockey player's mother's blood type? How many seconds into the game was the first penalty in yesterday's game?
Beth: Dude, you are totally bbqing me. Why can't you just believe me when I say i'm a fan? I shouldn't have to know tons of pointless trivia to support and cheer for a team.
