The uncomfortable few days between Christmas and the New Year when nothing seems to happen. The old year is dead; the new one hasn't begun. Everyone else is on holiday, television is showing older re-runs than normal, and the shops are either shut or crowded.

Autopause

Walking to a car, it's the place where a conversation becomes momentarily awkward, and often comes to a complete halt after a few failed attempts to shout over the large American sedan or SUV. Emerging from the autopause, the appropriate sentence is "What were we talking about?"
Jane and I were walking to the parkinglot- talking of memories past when upon arriving at the car we put our grocieries in the trunk. In order to get into the car, we went thru the autopause and felt weird that we could not see each other. We had time to think independently for a moment, and when we backed out into traffic, Jane said "What were we talking about?"

Andropause

Andropause is a stage in a man's life where he feels the need to act out against his age, by dressing like a 20 year old, buying sports cars, divorcing their wife, and dating a sugar baby or a much younger attractive woman. Many male celebrities are in this stage perpetually i.e. Leonardo Dicraprio, Scott Dissick.
Carl divorced his wife last year, he's constantly posting pictures with his young model wife and his sports car. I sure hope andropause hits me that good!

With regrets I would like to inform you that my boss is officially on eternity leave. I will never see or hear them again. Ever.
