Alphonzo
Alphonzo is the Spanish and Italian form of a Visigothic Germanic name, probably meaning "noble and ready" a dark, tall, handsome, strong (mentally and physically), caring, unconditionally loving person. He makes friends very easily and tends to be loved by many. If you ever come in contact with an Alphonzo , get to know him, because you'll never meet another guy like him. I know i'm never giving up my Alphonzo. He is a loving and crazy person, who I love so much. He can get you through just about any bad day. He can lift your spirits within 2 seconds. Alphonzo is the kind of person you just want to see all the time, hug, and never let go. If i ever lose my Alphonzo, I don't know what I'd do. Boffin
British slang for a scientist or technical expert, esp . when the speaker is not certain of the expert’s specific field of study. Not necessarily derogatory, but typically used by persons without a technical background. In the US, the equivalent would be “egghead”, “squint”, or “geek.”
Origin of the word is unknown. Started sometime in World War 2. Given the typical evolution of British slang, could easily have started because what these experts did was confusing or “baffling” to the common person.
