. A simple one word reply to a question asking how close an activity or a event is near completion.

I asked the girls that were taking the city bus to school if they were close to their destination. She replied “almostish”.

mother: "Go wash that dirt off of your upper lip for dinner".
preteenager: "I did mom,this is my mustache".

The syndrome of getting extremely close to realizing prominence or fortune in your chosen artistic pursuit, and through circumstances beyond your control or a because of a seeming twist of cruel fate, finding yourself consigned back to struggle and relative obscurity.

Damn, when that director died on the way to the meeting to get my buddy's script greenlit, that was one of the worst case of almosting I've ever seen.

Almosts

Almosts refers to the age demographic that is not quite 21. Ranging from 18 to 21, this age groups is of the age to vote join the military but not allowed to Drink in many if not all US states. They are in college of building careers. They are adults on several benchmarks and are not on others. Almost 21, but not quite.

Where can we go where the Almosts hang out?
Chico has plenty of places for the Almosts and many of 21 hang there as well.
