A saying off the phenomena that George Lucas simply cannot keep his hands off his own original trilogy of movies. He has updated them with 4 separate incarnations of CG graphics over a 15 year span. This has created a frankenstonian mess of old film footage with high resolution graphic composites on top. Therefore, the term 'Pulling a Lucas' just means that you cannot stop yourself from updating your own successfully completed works and projects. It's the modern, 'if it ain't broke don't fix it'.

A Lucas is someone you’d want to marry as soon as you set your eyes on them, somebody you would want to spend the rest of your life with. They have a peculiar but funny sense of humour, a great impression of a british accent, makes you feel like you’re floating whenever you talk to him. Boffin
British slang for a scientist or technical expert, esp . when the speaker is not certain of the expert’s specific field of study. Not necessarily derogatory, but typically used by persons without a technical background. In the US, the equivalent would be “egghead”, “squint”, or “geek.”
Origin of the word is unknown. Started sometime in World War 2. Given the typical evolution of British slang, could easily have started because what these experts did was confusing or “baffling” to the common person.
